About Us

We like to make things that make people smile

Our main aim is to make affordable items that anyone can enjoy. We are latecomers to crafting and very much still learning our crafts and our items have more of a rustic than polished feel, but we like to think that they make people smile.

Our wood usually comes from either local windfall, sawmill offcuts, or is recycled from unwanted/broken furniture, pallets or other discarded items. Sometimes something from the log basket looks too nice to burn and ends up in the workshop....

Our Story

Fi and Simon are a wife and husband team from Gellilydan, in beautiful Eryri (Snowdonia), N. Wales. They began "making sawdust" in 2021 when Simon bought a wood lathe on a whim. Soon after, a scroll saw and pyrography machine were added to the growing tool collection in the "sawdust shed", and Simon managed to convince Fi that she should have a go at initially pyrography and then scroll sawing. She took to them both, while Simon went throught various other fads such as power carving, chainsaw carving, hand carving and whittling but returned to wood turning because Fi liked the little wooden mice he made on the lathe. Fi went from strength to strength with her pyrography and scroll saw, and now, between them, they have made an awful lot of sawdust...
